Thanks Daniel. Yea, the podcasts are full of good info. I've already listened to quite a few. Good luck and hope to see you around BP.

Hello BP community! My name is Shane Seeley and I live in Geneseo, IL. My first exposure to real estate was through my father. He bought some small multi family units when I was in high school and I was his free labor for rehabbing. Several years later, after serving in the USAF, I landed in Illinois. While working in different occupations I've always felt the pull to explore real estate investing further.
Currently I work full-time for a local company that processes and delivers agricultural seed and other supplies. It's not a bad job, it pays the bills and provides pretty good healthcare insurance but it's not my passion. I love woodworking and making houses look better, both inside and out, and I get to do that part-time currently with a local real estate group.
My long term real estate goals are basically two fold; to grow into full-time construction and use those resources to obtain long term cash flow for retirement.

Allison, I'm relatively new to BP so I don't know very many people yet. I've lived near the Quad Cities for the last 18 years so I know the area pretty well and would be willing to answer any questions that you may if I can. I'm not sure if you're looking specifically for PM's or not but I would certainly be willing to help out with anything that you may need.

Wow, I currently don't have any rental property but I do repair and maintenance projects for a real estate group in my area. I've heard them talk about tenant "issues" but they don't even compare to some of the info shared here.
Buy & hold rental property is on our horizon in the near future so I appreciate all of you for sharing your trials.
