I’m currently house hacking a duplex with my girlfriend. I personally would not want to do a single family after being in my current house hack. I like the private unit just to me and my girlfriend. Also they are about 750 sq ft 2br/1ba so storage is limited and we use the spare bedroom for that.
That being said everyone is different and so are their circumstances and what they might be able to handle.
Best of luck!

@Matthew Amabile I recently just went through the same process on a fha duplex. I was worried about the sell falling through so I didn’t want to risk to much of my time and money on painting it completely before I closed. I legit took white primer (the house is light blue) and just painter all the spots that were peeling to get the fha approved.
House looks not the best at the moment but I’m getting ready now to completely Re paint the house with medium grey with white Trim and blue doors.

It was quite shocking. We actually offered $82,000 and they came back at $90,000. Split the difference and settled on $86,500. Looking back we should have been at $60,000! It's all part of the journey.

That's an incredible discount on the asking price! What was your method of presenting your offer? Did you give the seller quotes on how much you were going to have to pay to fix the problems or what was the way you went about it??
Congrats!
Awesome! Definitely a great way to submit an offer!

Hi everyone, I'm currently on the search for my first small multifamily for a House Hack. I've have followed the forum as well as the podcast for a while now, a topic that I have not heard yet or (missed) is what's the best way to structure your investment bank accounts for your properties? Do you set up separate accounts for Expenses, deposits, and cash flow saving? Do you set them up as a savings or checking, Or both? Do You set up new accounts for every property or able to use the same accounts for all properties?
Thank you!
