Hey friend :)

I am currently maxing out my 401k, which leaves almost nothing left to save for a down payment. This made sense: my company offered a 25% match on 100% of my contributions. However, I am now planning to leave before any of that match can be vested, essentially giving me a matchless 401k.

Should I keep maxing it out, or reduce contributions going forward and save for a rental property, even though I'll be taxed more?

Thanks in advance!

Post: FHA & Marriage - Loophole?

Hi BP!

Looking to buy my first property and wondering how my situation might shake out, google has not been helpful.

My boyfriend bought his house FHA four years ago. If we were to get married, would I still be able to use my FHA (for a multifamily or live-in flip) and rent out his current home? Would we have to refi to conventional? The current house is in his name only.

Thanks for helping me figure out if I should make a move to do FHA before marriage, or if it's still a viable option after.

@Mike Sumsky link is working now, thank you! See you there

Hi Mike, my boyfriend @Julian Peddle and I would like to come but the link won't work for either of us - it goes to a blank screen. Can you help?

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am looking to buy my first deal in 2016. I love the idea of "invest in your backyard" because I do know where the tracks lie. However I live in a high income state compared to the rest of the country and want to make my money go further. Any suggestions? Or words of wisdom? Thank you in advance!
