@Michael Ablan

The tenants pay for the heat, and as far as the neighborhood it isn’t an eye sore. The existing wood siding isn’t in shambles either just a few boards need to be replaced as well as trim around the windows.

@Todd Rasmussen

Thank you for your advice as well. I plan on holding it, just trying to think down the road as well but I agree that paint and repair would be best right now.

Hello BP community,

I am closing on my first deal in a couple weeks. It’s a triplex in South Jersey. For those familiar with the area it’s in Egg Harbor City. The appraisal requested the existing wood siding be painted and repaired in certain places were the boards are messed up. The house was built in 1902 and due to the age it doesn’t have the current sheathing/insulation that newer homes would have. I’m debating on what to do in terms of just getting it painted to satisfy the banks requirements or get the entire siding replaced with vinyl siding. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!

My name is Tristen Jenkins I'm 23 years old from Williamstown, NJ. For anyone not familiar with that area it's about 30-40 min. from Philadelphia or Atlantic City. Currently, I work for the TSA at the Atlantic City airport as well as personal training on the side. I'd like to build more passive streams of income. I have no real estate experience but I have been educating myself the past few months, and I'm interested in pursuing a house hack as well as getting into buy and hold rentals. I'm open to any suggestions, and I'm looking forward to being a part of this community.
