Welcome and congratulations on making a very important decision. As you will learn, there are several ways to may money in real estate. Some are more complicated and other are less so. Learn as much as you can, but get started! You will learn far more by Doing than you will by only reading. However, it is good to get the basic knowledge to avoid the most common mistakes.

If you have questions, PM me and we can talk.

Thank you for reaching out Keith. There is so much to learn, but I agree that the most valuable lessons will come from putting a plan into production. With that being said, I'm working on a basic plan of action so I can get rolling.  I see that you work around my area so i will be reaching out again soon! Thank you!

I'm excited for you because you are definitely on the right path!  It would be great if you could find a mentor in your area. I suggest searching recent posts (past 7 days) in the BP Forum with the keyword "Austin." Click through some of the recent discussions regarding properties in your area and send colleague requests to people who have posted recently that you would like to connect with. People on this site are very friendly and ready to help.

Good luck!

Thank you Mary! I'm going to follow your advice. I can already see how valuable   the members of this site are!

I've already listened to several podcasts, which I have enjoyed, and am reading the beginners guide.  I don't have any experience other than the sale of my home, but I have a relentless personality and love to learn. My plan is to work hard towards becoming financially indepedent so I can spend more time with my family.

I love it. That attitude right there is what will keep you at the top and pushing for great things!  You are 90% of the way there. The rest will fall into place. Welcome to the forum

Thank you for your motivating comment!

I called him and he helped mentor me through the first deal and several others. Clubs are a great start. Finding a mentor can really help you get ahead of the curve as well.

 Thank you for that advice!
