Josh Borcherding

Josh and his wife Audrey have lived in the Eau Claire area since 2004. They started their real estate investing journey in 2007 by purchasing a multi-unit building and the rest is history. They have bought, sold, and managed many properties since then specializing in multi-unit investing and rehabbing single family homes. Josh is a family man with a devotion to God, his beautiful wife, and three children. He loves outdoor recreation including snowmobiling, four wheeling, and golf. He also enjoys cruising in one of his classic cars. Josh has a great passion to see others succeed in real estate and life. He and his wife love to share their experience and expertise.

Chris Hake

Chris is the visionary and investor coach of the Master Investor Academy and Madison Real Estate Investors Association (REIA). Chris has decades of real estate investing experience and has seen (and smelled) more distressed properties than he cares to admit. He now applies that knowledge in the mentoring and education of his Coaching students that are actively engaged in rehabbing, wholesaling, and holding of properties all over South Central Wisconsin.

Chris has been a Madisonian for over 45 years and investing in the Madison real estate market for over 26 years. Since doing his first house hack in 1994, he has been involved with 100’s of house flips, 100’s of rentals, raised over 10 million dollars to fund those deals and had 1000’s of students come through his local training and coaching programs. Chris has a PhD & Master’s Degree in the school of hard knocks

Between 2006-2010 Chris taught the Real Estate Investing course at Madison Area Technical College, which saw 100’s of students come through his classes.

Between speaking engagements and mentoring other investors, Chris oversees the daily operations of his investing business, Madison Property Group, that rehabs, wholesales and wholetails properties, and holds properties for his investment portfolio.

What Makes a Good Property Manager?

In this session we will be learning together how to evaluate a property manager, and the service they are providing. Whether you own 1 rental or 1,000, a high-quality property manager is absolutely essential to sustained success in real estate investing. When it comes to owning rentals, many owners don't understand what to track, what questions to ask, and what the standards should be with property management.

As an owner, you should always be asking yourself, and your property manager, the right questions and setting the high standards for your portfolio, and their service. As an owner, you are responsible for ensuring the success of your portfolio. The right property manager makes this challenge much more attainable!

In this session, we will cover:

• What your property manager should be responsible for
• What communication you should be receiving weekly, monthly, and quarterly
• What metrics help you understand your portfolios performance, and how the property manager should be giving these to you
• How we should measure success of a rental portfolio

With having these questions clarified and focused, you can define for yourself what makes a 'good property manager.' After this session you will have the tool kit to effectively evaluate property managers, and make sure your manager is aligned with your goals and expectations.

Derek has a passion for real-estate, a passion for business, and above all else: a passion for serving people and adding value to their life. Beginning his real estate journey in 2017, Derek bought a home in Oshkosh with the intended use as a long-term rental. Over the next four years, Derek and his team would purchase and close over 60 deals, ranging from long term rentals to fix and flip projects of any size. Hello, I am Shaun Tutor; Sam and I are getting married this February! We have a good doggo Mimi and we host a podcast together called Tutors of Life. I previously co-owned Stable Living, a company Ryan Gray and I grew from an idea to a self-running organism. I sold my shares of the Company to Ryan and our manager Cody Anderson in November of 2021. In the last year I switched my sole focus to real estate investing and flipping. My brother Kyle and I flip houses and BRRRR full time. I take my proceeds and invest in cash flowing real estate and cryptocurrency.

Ben Walker

I grew up here in Eau Claire. I have been blessed to grow up in a great home with great parents that have given me lots of opportunities. In high school, I started Walker Lawn Care and still own and operate this business today. I attended UWEC for 2 years and dropped out as it was taking time and resources away from my business. Over that time, I was taking profit from the lawn care business and reinvesting in both the business and small rental properties. Over the past few years, we have been able to build a small rental portfolio that covers the costs of our household and has provided us with a level of financial freedom. I am married to my wife Hannah and we have 2 daughters: Ella and Nora. Hannah and I met while on Ski Sprites and we still continue to spend our summers skiing and are planning to teach the girls how to ski as well. Real estate has been a great blessing to our family and has proven to be a great investment.

Dan Gjerseth

Dan Gjerseth is the owner and lead listing agent of Dan Realty Group based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He began owning his own company when he was 20 and still in college. After college he sold his moving company, and started Dan Realty Group in 2018. Through out the years he has become an investor himself, and has helped many like-minded investors in the Eau Claire area. Dan in his real estate team has a niche for helping investors not only sell and purchase property, but educate them on the importance of real estate investing. Dan surrounds himself with those who are just as driven as him, which made his company of 1 in the beginning of 2021 to grow to a company of 5 by the end of 2021. WiscoREIA not only provides a place of opportunity and growth for him, but motivates him to do what he does every day. When Dan has spare time he enjoys everything outdoors along with his dog, Daisy.

Ryan Gray

Hi, I'm Ryan Gray, owner of Stable Living LLP. I previously worked in another AFH and the standard of care was lower than it should have been, which inspired me to open our own and improve the quality of care for our community. My current goals are to grow Stable Living while improving quality as we grow. I believe with the strong team that we have created; we can help a lot of people. My main interests outside of Stable Living is growing another business We Buy Western Wisconsin Homes LLC where I buy and sell homes and wholesale properties. I also want to grow a multi-family real estate portfolio with my wife Eva. I also love to play baseball for the Beef River Bullfrogs, go whitetail hunting at our family farm, and play with my beautiful daughter Jo.

AJ Minaker

AJ first became interested in real estate in 2006. After years of contemplating, he bought his first house, a duplex that he and his wife made home for four years. Since then, they have purchased additional units and begun rehabbing single family homes.

AJ lives with his wife and children in the Eau Claire area. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, personal training, and he recently started coaching youth basketball. The challenge of investing in real estate is something AJ enjoys.
