@Sayid K.Hey take a look at the beginners guide for real estate investors by doing a search on this website for that. Start there and it will branch you to many sources. I would continually pump up my knowledge with the podcast and discussions on here relevant to your goals. Always be active and helpful to others.

@Brian StupackHey brian im also a fellow winnipeger. Great to see that you have already been well acquianted to this REI thing. Ive looked into a 10 bedroom house in Winnipeg that appears to cash flow pretty decently(~1400$/month) im getting more information soon from the lead I have. It would be interesting to connect with you if I can throw a deal or two at you before I pull the trigger in investing in them. Also how are your duplexes doing?

@Thomas S. Lol emotionless man! Very harsh statement. Lol but i do know where your coming from. Investors should always take emotions out of the equations. Good way to inaugurate him into the community.

@Matthew Newman Welcome to BP. Glad to have you here at such a young age. Lots to learn but this is definetly the right place. Its more geared towards US investors but there are still quiet a few canadians here.
Look up beginners investors guide on this for a good way to start.
Podcasts are also very informative on this website.
Lots of people to network with.
There is a webinar about duplexes and triplexes on Wednesday next week so be sure to attend that. You can ask any specific question there. Overall from my experience I hear people do well with Duplexes but you just need to know if your getting a good deal etc.

@Ayodeji Kuponiyi lol there is no way the seller is going to go down to 525,000. That isnt realistic. The question isnt are you getting a deal or not. You clearly will be if that would be accepted. The question is how low would the seller go, and I suspect nothing less then 1 million. Also judging from how old these posts are I also presume that the seller declined the offer.

Hey Francois. Yes I know two physicians working in Red Deer. One is a Gastroenterologist and the other is an Oncologist. They both said its a nice city but small obviously. So you work in property management I take it.
I was only looking into Calgary thinking its a good idea to buy when they are at there low point. Sure if you can get your connection to show me any lead that would potentially be a good investment I would be interested to hear about it.

@Roy N. Thanks Roy! I found your thread from two years ago . Good advice. I will seek help from the experts is what it seems like. In your experience do you find real estate investment in US was an overall good or bad idea?
