SYNDICATION

Our own Lynn Currie and Scott Sutherland will address the ins-and-outs of Sponsoring Real Estate Deals for Syndicated Funds (or) Passive Investor Groups.

Syndication is the way a lot of large projects get funded but the process is complicated. How you go about setting up the project and qualifying investors can make the difference between being legal or not. Scott and Lynn have been through the process and can share information on how they have done it. The July meeting will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 10:00 am in Lynn's conference room. NEW USES FOR OLD SPACE

Our June meeting of “Coffee Talk” will feature as guest speaker Founder and Lead Consultant of I.O. Infinite Opportunities Carina Boston Pinales. Carina will share her experience developing Splash , a new coworking space downtown San Marcos with her partner Sean Garretson of Pegasus Planning and Development.

Carina has collaborated with leading minds in the industry to create a state-of-the-art incubator on the city's square. She'll share how the vision came about, the challenges they've faced remodeling a historical building, from the ground floor to the rooftop, and her vast network of contacts supporting this small town's shift to the metro's newest collaborator for entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Our May meeting of “Coffee Talk” will feature as guest speakers a real estate investing family, the Radys. They have explored some non traditional areas of investing and identified some basic activities that can result in in serious income by doing exactly the opposite of what many of us have been taught.

KEEPING UP WITH THE TAX MAN!

Everyone who has ever been in business knows how important it is to maintain good records and make the proper elections with the IRS. Doug Tidwell has made understanding the IRS rules for real estate investors one of his specialties. At our March 11, 2015, meeting of "Coffee Talk" Doug will discuss new IRS friendly rules for writing off repairs on investment and business property. Doug will also discuss proper bookkeeping on rental property as well as investing in real estate with your IRA. Doug is a CPA and will share his knowledge on many of the areas important to real estate investors. I expect we will get a chance to ask a few questions so bring yours along to the meeting.

I have had the tubing from outside A/C unit going to the inside unit do that.  There was extra tubing that was coiled and when the compressor kicked on it shook the tubing.

Coffee Talk is a real estate meet up group that meets in South Austin, Tx.  Most of the groups meet in North Austin and I floated the idea of starting a South Austin group.  We have been meeting for a year and now invite  speakers, have some time for meet and greet, and ask questions.

The meeting is open to all so we would like to see you.
