copy down said number.......... make up approx 100 "free items for pick up" and list them on craig's list etc.... 

Just do a "for sale by owner" or use a listing service to get it on the MLS.

Myself building a marketing list, marketing campaign, building relationships with sellers- taking calls, having coffee etc, finding the right network of lenders/ title companies/ insurance that are willing to cater to our needs.

They're big wholesale firms that offer hard money, comps, and a list of sub contractors. 

I haven't read that book yet but it is definitely on my list.
