In Hawaii, that local knowledge can go a long ways towards getting financing for a VR or investment property that the big, mainland banks won't do.

Hey @Neal CollinsGreat advice for getting into the VR space.  

I have no urge to tell people and tweet I am going to the bathroom or eating dinner with somebody etc.I think some times should be private and you need to disconnect.All of these social sites can become compulsive and unhealthy if over engaged.I use to post to 40 social networking sites at once but some are just people trying to sell porn or contact you with crap.I am interested in QUALITY of contacts and not just VOLUME of contacts.I have a twitter account but I don't use it at all.Might eventually just employ a local person to keep up with all of this stuff.

Not only will you be saving money but you need to learn what a STR/VR property manager does and what they should be doing.

With the taxes, high HOA fees, and sheer amount of airbnbs in Miami Beach (I read 1 VR for every 15 MB residents)...you would have to give me a free condo to invest on the beach. 

There is one site that I frequent that has spam all the time not just solicitations but porn spam,viagra and other drug spam and crap like that.

I have seen some threads that go over suggestions on how to compare/analyze VR properties.
