No big McDonald signs or Burger King but instead small sign out front that is tasteful and appealing.    

I think you are confusing the 50% rule with the 2% rule.

If I tell you to eat certain meals to lose weight and you keep eating donuts and burgers, who's at blame? 

Are you going to just go in and order a burger?

What's left are either low skilled jobs like flipping burgers or (as one of the people they interviewed had done) changing tires and giving cars jump starts or they jobs require specific, advanced skills.

That doesn't mean you can't have a cheese burger once a month, but it means that you don't drink four glasses of milk a day. 

Today you can't just go to the bank and get 8 mortgages if you work in McDonalds flipping burgers.

There is a big chunk of residents that flip burgers earning minimum wage, and living with parents at their 30s because they can't afford to live out, if you count 2,000 hours a year, and earn above minimum wage say 13/hr that's only 26k a year, and at 40% dti that's only 800/mo at federal minimum wage 8/hr that's only 16k a year and 40% is 530.
