They do not have any skin in the game and are just automating the process of searching various databases. 

I can't imagine how much extra time is spent without having automation.

The only thing that works is learning, implementing, learning more, tweaking, and putting in massive amounts of work.  

I would take brokers out to dinner, get to know their families, and find common interests, like I did with the fly-fishing broker I talked about at the start of this chapter.To streamline the underwriting process and ensure consistency, I implemented a model or spreadsheet.
