@James Hamling has great points as usual......If they are requesting - and really need - that type of tub, then they are not far off from needing the rest of the aging in place pot-pourri...It might be wiser for now to just remodel the shower.....make it a walk-in type with no curb, add a couple of tasteful grab-bars, an adjustable shower head and some sort of fold-down bench or seat.
