In a waterfall, the GP is incentivized to stay the course, gambling the LPs equity, because the GP only makes money above 7%. 

I've reframed my thought process to "okay losing 200-ish dollars when gambling is akin to having thousands & now losing $20K+."

Goes by the person so like in all real estate investments, its a gamble. 

You may have a problem trusting your team, even when they have proved themselves, and if you decide to visit your investments a couple times a year, you could find yourself using all your profits on trips to another state.Either way, investing is a gamble.
