I would simply say to them that I've never dealt with this situation before and so I'm unsure of how to resolve this situation so I would ask her opinion on how she would like you to help and see if the resolution is viable and feasible.

@Rosie Geller let me start of by saying I was in IT including live broadcasting of International tennis tournaments, so I have experience in security and security cameras.The problem with using security cameras are:- the resolution at night usually isn’t good enough to make identification unless you buy REALLY good cameras which will cost more then the AC unit you lost.- even if you get an alert, the response time of police isn’t fast enough and your equipment is long gone.

It took me 15 minutes to file online, it was an easy one as I had an appraisal from Oct last year but 6 hours after I turned in the protest they returned their resolution.

Yes, the situation does suck and lots of blame to go around but I think that good ole conflict resolution deserves a chance.
