Everyone here is right in saying that you need a thick skin and to ignore those people who claim to know better, without actually knowing anything.

You have movement if tile is cracking.Have heard on other boards the magic thickness of  subfloor is AT LEAST 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" is much better. 

He has always been been very loyal to me through thick and thin so I would be greatly surprised if I had the issues that @Bryan Creed had.

It was an actual glaze, a thick product that you had to apply with a paintbrush (hence why I got the handyman- I didn't think I would be able to do a smooth enough finish to make the tub look good).

., but there's more to it then that.People choose to go the wholesaling route because there's no significant financial commitment but they're quickly disappointed when they get into the thick of things.
