If the complainer can't smell it in their apartment, but, are uptight enough to be bothered by the passing smell in the hallway...it may not be the smoker that has the problem.I have found that complainers/boat rockers are often wound a bit to tight, and that when you are a highly responsive empathetic landlord, they turn you in to their own personal karma delivery machine, to right all the wrongs that previously fallen on deaf ears.Good luck.

I don’t know why we didn’t get that vital piece of info in our initial meeting.So my wife and I are extremely relieved .She says she will stay on as a courtesy and if things come up it will just be an “ hourly “ rate for emergency type situations or basic boots on the ground necessities.We really like her enthusiasm and positivity and she is great at communicating and seems  sincerely empathetic to our situation.

Most of these guys I know are REI also so they are empathetic to our needs.

I'm also great with people, love to educate and help others and have a very empathetic side that plays well in showing people I'm really out to help.

I'm empathetic to you people trying to run an ethical business to provide for your families and have to constantly be painted as the "greedy landlord" for trying to make a living.

It will be hard because you’re an empathetic and caring person (I’m guessing.

Of course you need to be empathetic in the approach but you just need to flat out get in the mix and start asking "Do you want to sell your house quickly, as is and for cash?"
