There are some things that need to be repaired, some rooms need repainting, and some carpet that needs to be replaced so conservatively you spend 15k among all 3 of them to get them ready for the market.

The Continental GT is a repaint.

We have to repaint a new STR and am asking for good recommendations on paint color choices.

It is is lead paint there is an obvious liability issue but also just the maintenance of repainting is a pain.

I immediately threw down laminate flooring instead of the nasty carpets and repainted the entire house (interior).

For a Lead Safe certificate (which shows that lead dust levels are within tolerances and has to be re-done periodically, as opposed to Lead Free, which shows that there isn't any lead to worry about and doesn't have to be renewed) almost all scenarios can be remediated by cleaning or repainting (followed by cleaning, of course). 

They stripped the old paint, repainted and caulked for $350 each tub.

I’ve gotten quotes ranging from $6,500-$12k to repair and waterproof the exterior walls, plus there's the added cost of repairing and repainting the inside walls.
