They didn't request any refund as it was their issue and I can't control wildfires.The other was due to an elderly family member dying suddenly (not at our house) and they had to leave.

Some places that allow a small second residence on the property target those to "in-law"-like units, where an elderly relative can live independently on the property.Thank you for your post - it's an innovative concept.  

We have heard all the stories about bad contractors, but again down here, is the only place, you will find roofing contractor vans driving around after a hurricane, seeking out elderly people with a broken roof, and offered to repair or replace it, but with a 50% deposit in cash or check, and they "will be here tomorrow bright and early". 

Give yourself some cushion for time to sell, and depending on market timing (some times of year it's easier to sell) you might be glad to have that.There has been some other discusion regarding houses belonging to elderly who face assisted living arrangements and nursing homes.

When I'm teaching this, I'm teaching it to many "elders"  highly experienced people looking to get started.  

Elderly, fixed-income people had no option but to sell and relocate.

I've made good money on a flip and I've lost ton of money & being threaten (elderly abuse... long story). 

We tried to be nice to the elderly couple that was movIng out and told them they could leave a few things in the house if they didn't want to take them.

Not to worry about being able to go somewhere with the family or not.to enjoy the time with the elders of my family and loved ones because that time is limited.to travel and become more culturally wealthy!

I have a heart for the elderly and also plan to do SFRALF (Single family residential assisted living facilities) but now you've made me be open to thinking bigger/differently...
