Everyone who owns an older home has dragged all the soggy belongings (furniture, appliances, clothes, toys, knickknacks, etc.) out to the streets which are covered in mud, and there are downed trees, fences, pool cages, boats on front lawns, a major mess.

The BLS indexes for retail sales, new and used autos, food and beverage stores, restaurants and bars, building materials, clothing are screaming inflation. this is the highest inflation since the 1970s. the current bout of inflation was demand driven before there were supply shortages.
