If they're plastic, it'll work for a while, but PVC and ABS are hard to get paint to stick to on a long-term basis.If there's a satellite dish on the roof, you may have to disconnect it temporarily while roofing. 

@Austin Fry personally I would wait unless you can just get a killer deal.

I have now put a plastic cover on it to stop it from getting wet but those lights need air circulation.

Same story for plumbing fixtures, not plastic.

However, take note of this scenario's difference between this example and yours.I have a fried, that started a summer/weekend business in High School when he was 15. 

I love Pewaukee and when I take my mom out there its were she spent her summers in the late 30s and 40s  we still go out to Friday fish fry the restaurant on the South side of the lake. 

In the meantime, I bought a $10 plastic bathroom faucet at Menards, and installed it in the kitchen sink, so I could at least have water. 

Plastic just looks cheap.

You will have a local seller of pest control products, which is where the pest control guy gets his stuff from.Buy one of those plastic canisters that you pressurize (can't remember what they are called), some good old Cyper WP or Permethrin, and have at it.
