They’re convenient, but the downside is you often don’t get the full SSN or DOB for your records.If you ever need to collect on a debt or get a judgment enforced (like garnishing wages), having the full SSN and birthdate makes things much easier for your attorney or collection agency.

I’ve got a solid relationship with a great lender and while I could probably find slightly better terms somewhere else the convenience of always having the same point of contact, always being able to talk to a decision maker if I need help, and having a lender who values me and my business just wins out every time over trying to get the lowest possible rate with hours of comparison.

Those extra steps catch fraud, false documents, and applicants who might otherwise slip through.In short, don’t just “check the box” because a package looks convenient—make sure the data behind it is accurate, current, and reviewed by people who understand housing compliance.
