New Zealand, where I am from, is sadly off the table now as the govt just banned overseas ownership of existing dwellings.

Especially to under funded, under trained, unsophisticated "investors" who could get sued.When you go on his facebook page and ask about these questions, you get banned.

Also many lenders are getting out of the STR business because of potential for jurisdictions to ban them, and for those that allow it they are very keen on making sure proper permits are in place.Overall this seems like a tough deal to finance and might be better raising capital for the deal with more investors. 

For example Colorado has a state-wide ban which prevents any cities from implementing rent control laws.
