To reply to someone specifically, hit the @ symbol at the beginning of your message, start to type their name, and click on their name as it pops up. 

Tech question - how do I get the @ symbol in front of people's names so that they know when I reply to their posts??  

At that point it seems better to just invest in the stock market and using something like ticker symbol O which pays a 5.3%+ dividend.

@Michael Heal , to get the @mention thing to work properly, you have to do more than just type the name after the @ symbol... you have to start typing the name (or just a ?)
