It sounds like you can basically have a VR do anything you want them to do.

Most of us VR owners on BP self manage remotely for exactly that reason.

With a VR you can expect it to appreciate...most timeshares don't.  

A lot of people want a property held for investment (say, STR or VR) in the CO mountains or SoCal or FL or the Northeast, but they really also want to spend personal time there.

The best VR is one you live close to in a reasonable market.

There's a huge VR (short term rental) market in Sunriver, and in Bend.

If you're able to find a local Realtor who knows the VR market well, you will have your best chance at getting good recommendations and starting strong - that's what I did in two different markets, and it served me very well

A consolidation will be TERRIBLE for VR owners.
