There’s no reason investors in real estate related assets shouldn’t concentrate, as stock and bond investors have for years, on asset allocation.  

What was allocated to maintenance/cap expense?  

I invest in both...and continue to allocate more to real estate as my knowledge grows...lower risk and higher returns.

If you can allocate monthly amounts that will still allow you to cash flow & you can live with the totals it should be fine. 

I will run my numbers with and without this allocation, but including this will result in the most conservative approach.
