Usually that will bring it up on zillow and they usually show a year of build.If it has had metal theft, you'd likely know it. ie, the sheetrock would be torn up all over the house, etc.

However, I don't see a problem with continuing to average in, even during a downturn.More importantly, I think real estate is the best hedge against the markets ;)And I think the next best hedges are precious metals and bitcoin.I think the dollar is going to see a real devaluation, and lose its standing as the world reserve currency, bitcoin as sovereign and decentralised money will take its place.

One little blip with change in their job or business and they are toast.Conversely if someone makes 700k to 1 million or more a year and wants a custom build Mercedes SUV Blue Metallic color then why not?.....

There is a lot of wisdom in that and I would take on debt very carefully, especially nowadays, being ok with the worst case scenario and maybe having some assets that other people can't take or sue you for (precious metals?).

The best thing I can say is if you’re not comfortable buying individual stocks, look into ETFs that track the index, specific sectors (like financials, tech, etc), metals, and fixed income (bonds, treasuries, etc).

To get other funds they give you instructions on how to transfer money via "plastiq" or goldmoney.com  (purchasing metals and turning around and cashing out a few days letter.)
