The Fed held nearly 30% of the agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS) market as of June 2024, with a total of about $2.3 trillion in holdings.The math of this move tells me many people waiting on next FED Funds Rate drop, assuming a matching mortgage rate drop, will be VERY disappointed, frustrated, and yelling "scam, it's a SCAM" wondering why rates are laying flat or, going UP.

Licensees are held to a different standard when engaging with the public, and making a “killing” on a deal may either alert regulators to charges of failing to disclose market values or private attorneys representing sellers to charges of failing to deal “honestly”.

If you rent it out before selling, you can also take depreciation, but remember, depreciation recapture will apply when you sell.If you do plan to rent it out, do it for at least a year or 2 to clearly establish it’s “held for investment.”
