Don't mentally count yourself out. 

As far as crime goes,  there have been a few high profile incidents,  the most recent being about 10 years ago when a mentally ill individual who had come up from further south in the state broke into a home and committed a rape/murder against a couple living there, as well as a couple of other incidents of serious violence as well since I have owned in the area.

Knowing and acknowledging this mental barrier helped.  

Folks that insist on letting me know their religious preferences generally just get a mental eyeroll as I really listen to what they are saying.Had a couple of sisters rent a condo from me.  

Getting into the 'real estate never goes down' mentality can be pretty dangerous.

I am bothered by those landlords in Japan that have a small island/closed-minded mentality. 

I feel like, the more buildings in the space, the less prices should be. here is the catch: I talked to Agents and property mgmt from the treasure valley area, and they all said that the inrush of people moving to Nampa made it still appealing to investors to buy pricy multifamily buildings. to me personally, unless I see the numbers make sense with my projections, I would not buy just because everybody is buying. this is not my mentality as an investor.  

ESA are prescribed to treat mental disorders, so I question why someone with a mental disorder would intentionally get a breed that they know will cause problems.

They are mentally costly, plus there are other risks.
