In Feb 2016 my wife and I moved from Toronto Ontario to Hamilton Ontario and purchase our first house.

I am looking to bid the work out to construction companies in the NY Capital Region area (Albany/Schenectady, Etc.). 

I suggest you not depend on a site that has every Realtor in the region listed like Realtor.com.  

There’s this guy in my area, has his hands in almost every apartment in the region, keeps owner financing them to others for  ridiculous prices.. everyone who takes a bite defaults 5-10 years later, he takes back the property and does it all over again.

If you have a VA loan you could buy your next house with no money down, or minimal money down if over the regional limit, and then have all that money to reinvest.

Does anyone have an recommendations for CPA's in the northwest IN region?

We're at a point now where we're ready to begin meeting with experts from the region representing each of the "Core Four" roles or a turnkey developer.  

A good mortgage broker/credit union/regional bank will help you ascertain what is the best fit for your needs (short and long-term).

They acquired a regional bank here in the Northeast where all my business accounts were and they were horrible.
