Legislators are hoping to draw in more international dollars by lifting the ban on foreigners owning property within 50km (31 miles) of the coast or within 100km (62 miles) of an international border.Foreigners are currently able to purchase coastal property by using a third-party Mexican bank as a trustee.

If someone thinks they can outsmart the system and not comply with the audit. they are legally allowed just to make up a number until the audit is complied with (usually crazy high guess).

I don't know whether to go ahead or not as it would take around 5 years to make up for that lost value even though the renovation will add to the total value of the building and land.

There isn't a ton of legislation on wholesaling in Texas but one wouldn't have to stretch the imagination to say that marketing properties you don't actually own could be performing the duties of a real estate agent.

In speaking with the representatives from Airbnb that were in town several times working on this legislation, they say that the regulations passed in Columbus are now being used by Airbnb as "model regulations" for all cities to use to get the best mix of protections, taxes, permitting, and rules for short term rentals to thrive as a lodging option for visitors.
