Tiny flats (apartments) can be £400000 (yes, four hundred thousand!)

That means taking down two walls around the tiny kitchen to open it up to the dining room and living room, tile the floor, put in an island, and redo the bathroom completely (tile for floor and walls).

Since you are new and an unknown quantity, they will want to err on the side of caution.

I can live for free for a year with the fourplex right away and then cashflow a little less when I move out, but the apartments are very tiny, I can imagine there will be a lot more turn over in finding new tenants..Any advice or insight would be great!
