Economists on both sides of the coin agree that rent control is not the way to go....Since I can't draw a supply/demand sketch on bigger pockets, I might be able to attempt to explain the general principle behind it.Rent control is an artificial price ceiling set by regulatory bodies (government).

In the article it did say the Federal government could appeal the ruling, and my guess is they probably will, this simply adds another wrinkle to the entire debate.If I had to guess what will happen next is that this will be appealed and pending the outcome of that appeal end up going to the Supreme Court, where I would guess it will be struck down as unconstitutional.

So far we have no restrictions with evictions since tenant hasn't given us notice that they can't pay rent due to covid caused issues, they haven't filed for any public assistance and we don't have any government financing.
