It has worked really well for us over the last 8 years and we are still using all the various furniture pieces except for a hand made futon that a guest destroyed.The place you buy brand new is mattresses, linens, towels etc.

We have never had any major damage to any piece of furniture except a handmade futon someone couldn't figure out how to make back into a couch and broke it.

I do have a very nice set of mid century modern bedroom furniture from an estate sale that I bought a house through; the furniture is probably worth several thousand dollars as it was flawless, handmade in the early 50s out of high quality solid birch (most birch is veneer).
