First off, if you can't run it successfully as a short term rental, what makes you think someone else will be able to do so, with the added baggage of paying you and furnishing the place (assuming you wouldn't just give them your furniture)?

However, it would be a lot harder on my infrastructure - in the winter everyone wants pool heat so your compressor would be running for months, when it's hardest to keep things warm, and I'd be running my AC system harder while I was there in the hot months.
