Finding a contractor

Serge Dulau
Posted

Hello all,

I am new to REI and am looking to purchase a home for a co-living investment. I know I will need to build a few bedrooms to the house that I buy and would like some advice on finding a contractor. Do new investors simply look on google?

Ask friends, family, tradesmen, other investors. Go to some supply houses and ask which contractors pay their bills on time. Most people know someone in the tradesmen and that can lead to a chain of referrals.  Verify their legitimacy and throughly understand FL license law via DBPR & CILB websites. They have numbers you call too, they exist to protect consumers.
