Experienced Investors How do we feel about rent to own agreements?

I wanna invest in my first property really soon but I don't have the financial resources yet so would it be a smart move to rent to own a property til I put enough into it til I can buy the property? I've done some research how this is just a benefit for the property owner and is such a scam but I would like to hear more from my experienced investors opinions?
