I need Advice about going to my 1st RIG Meeting

I recently took the advice someone posted on my forum, and joined the RIG in my city. I went to one of the weekly lunches, I didn't meet anyone, I have never been shy, but I wasn't sure how to approach anyone. Our monthly meeting is in a couple of days. I'm looking forward to it, but I don't want to go and not meet anyone and possibly miss an opportunity. So I came here hoping to get some tips, especially since I'm going alone. Not much support from my friends and family. They feel my dreams and goals aren't realistic. 

I feel joining the Jackson RIG is a chance for me to start being around like minded people who are doing what I want to be doing some day soon. I am really excited, but I'm nervous too, because when I was at the lunch, I kind of felt out of place, because its wasn't what I'm used to. And that is not like me, I am very outgoing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@Vera Herlihy are you going to make it to the meetup on Saturday in Santa Monica.  Would love to meet you.  @Tamika Calhoun you are welcome also, but it may be a little far.
