Real Estate license Vs No license

I have set a new goal for next year to break into the REI world. I’m starting a new job that would allow me to work on getting my real estate license when I’m off. The reason I would want to be an agent is so I can understand more about the in and outs of deals. I also would use that money that I make in real estate to help fund deals and also having access to the mls sounds like it would be a good idea. Is there any reason why I should not to be an investor and an agent in the state of Colorado?

I was a part time agent for 10 years.  Was it a valuable experience? Absolutely, because when I decided to become a full time agent, I didnt have a learning curve when starting up.  However as a part time agent, I wouldnt really expect to make any extra side money. You might get something here and there, but most people dont want to use a part time agent.  It was a good way for me to learn the industry and practices....but Im sure over the course of those 10 years, I paid far more money to maintain my license, which costs a few grand a year, than I probably made.
