I look for opportunities your area.  I also remember seeing a meet-up in Santa Clarita before.  I don't know how active they are. I co-founded FIBI (For Investors By Investors) in 2007 do a search on meetup.com to find the closest chapter.  Pasadena might be the closest to you.
