How Much Money Have You Made or Saved as a Result of BiggerPockets.com?

Question

Can you quantify the amount of business that you've derived from BiggerPockets?

I've spoken to a quite a few members who have told me about a remarkable amount of business (several in the millions) that they have done as a result of this site; these are people who have partnered with other members, found deals, found money, and so on.

I was hoping that we might be able to get those of you who have profited from BP to share.

I know that coming to a number may not be very easy for some, but for others it may be.

If we can demonstrate to both our new members and potential new users how many of you have benefitted, and can then start to quantify that benefit, it would go a LONG way to help us tell others how incredible this place really is.

While your stories are important (please share these on the BP Success Stories forum), what I'm really looking for here is a number and a brief explanation of that number.

Note: Even if the site stopped you from getting into a bad deal or saved you from spending your money on overpriced (fill in the blank), I'd love to hear from you.  Just quantify the savings and share for all to see.

A wholesaler found me on BP and brought me a deal that netted me $50,000 and some change.

I need about 4 more of those right now.

I can't currently "quantify" the amount of business I have done or the amount of money I have saved using BP but, I will say it has been a lot!
1.  I met one individual here who I have done over 10 deals with.
2.  I reconnected with someone here that I knew from the past and ended up closing two deals with him.
3.  I get at least two phone calls a week from people telling me they are members of BiggerPockets and they would like to know more about what we do.  
4.  In the last year we have had 554 website visitors come to our site from BP.  Who knows how many of these folks filled out a quote request form and sold us a note?  I would have to say more than 10 at this stage of the game.
5.  I have sold notes to at least 3 investors I met here.  Two of them have bought from us on more than one occasion.  
6.   The site is addicting and only getting better as more professionals jump on board.  I pick up tips and industry insight everyday on a wide array of topics.   
As I said, I can't "quantify" the amount of business I have done with members here or as a result of my association with BP but, I will say it is good enough and that I feel indebted to the site for all it offers.

I would have a hard time quantifying the benefits of being active on BP.  I get calls and emails from various sources.  I've done some consulting work.  I prepared several tax returns.  I have worked with several local BP members that have provided several leads.

If I had to guess on the amount of business it is roughly 5-6 K.  Much harder to estimate the value of information and connections though.  How much is a good loan source worth?  How much is it worth to learn ways to get a higher return from your investments.

I have learned a great deal here about note investing, mobile home park investing and how to look at a commercial deal.

I recently put what I learned to use and purchased my first commercial property and will be refinancing into an SBA 7(a) loan.

I think by far the connections are the most valuable part of BP.  Where else can you so easily associate with millionaires, lenders, real estate professionals, developers, gurus and specialists of so many flavors.  No idea how to value this but it has a lot of value.

josh, i've been trying to write this post for a while..sorry...bp has done a ton for me and my business...i'm not sure how to quantify it unfortunately...i can say that before BP i was not where i wanted to be, and now i can see myself getting there...i was able to pass on a 6 figure job bc my business is doing so well if that gives a clue at all..

About $5,000 in profit to date, but I'm very, very small time and started with nothing.

The site indirectly led me into a different type of investment where I expect to be able to earn a full time income before the end of the year and continue growing my capital.

Maybe this is not my place to say, but considering how much money is being/has been made from networking via this site, I find it very strange that the amount collected via donations is VERY low.

I'm still in my learning stages but I fully intend to donate something small from each deal I close....even if its 0.01% of your profits, i'm pretty sure anyone can work that into their budget

Thanks Marc.  I appreciate you sharing.  I'm guessing that like you, others may not be able to put an actual number on the benefit, but I hope that doesn't stop people from participating in this thread.

If you've derived any benefit from the site, but can't quantify monetarily, please share what you can similar to how Marc has.

His story is fantastic, and as we can all see, the site has benefited his business in many different ways.

I have my first rehab for sale now as a result of BP.  After I complete this first investment, I'm planning on giving more details.  Johathan, I think your right.  If we profit from a site that's completey free, I think we should give back.
