Home insurance wants to know about the dog
Hello,
my home insurance company wants to know
the breed of my dog and if it has bitten anyone and what training it has.
It's a small and gentle pet with no biting history, anything I need to be aware of before answering these questions, I just want to make sure they don't slap me with an undue increase in insurance premium.Appreciate your inputs
Thanks

They probably want to know if it's a "dangerous breed" animal, which could increase your premium or cancel your policy. If it's not on the dangerous breed list, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Dangerous Breeds
- Pit bulls
- German shepherds
- Akitas
- Staffordshire terriers
- Chow chows
- Alaskan malamutes
- Doberman pinschers
- Great Danes
- Siberian huskies
- Rottweilers
- Presa Canarios
- Wolf hybrids
That's a common list but some carriers may add/remove. There are many insurance providers that have no restrictions.
