Rental requirements relating to fair housing laws, DUI, and drugs

You can't deny an application due to dui or drug use convictions due to drinking and drug use being considered a disease. So when listing your requirements on your advertisements, and in person, how would you go about talking about criminal background. Can you advertise as no criminal history as a requirement, even though duis would considered part of that background?

I guess what I am asking is how do you folks go about listing the requirements regarding criminality on your advertisements and in person when talking to the applicant?

I don't put it in ads, but my policy is no felonies in the last five years and no more than two misdemeanors in the last five years.
