Soon to be Rental Property Owner

Rick Hoffart
Posted

Hello all, My wife and I are very near our goal of being debt free including our home. In six months or so I hope to have enough saved to buy our first investment / rental property. At 58 yo my goal is to have 3 to 5 homes supplying good cash flow by 65. My thoughts are to make large down payments 25% - 50% on the properties to increase the monthly cash flow. I'd really like to have a few of these homes mortgage free. That's my plan as of now but of course it's very fluid and I'm open to change.

I live in the Texas Hill Country about a hour north of San Antonio.

I will be lurking more then posting, also I hope to build some good relationships from these forums.

Hey Rick,

Welcome to BP.  There’s a lot of good information around here and a lot super knowledgeable folks,  I would recommend checking out some of the meetups.  My brokerage has one next Tuesday and there is one I believe the 2nd Wednesday that @Rick Pozos holds.

I’ve found the meetups a great place to meet like minded people and network but also to learn about all the different ways people invest and see what works for different people.  If I can be a resource in any way let me know.
