Buying Property in Portugal

I was wondering if anyone here has experience investing in property in Portugal that I can ask a few questions?

Hello Mary,

I don't have much real experience just what I studied and some nuggets from friends that invest locally. 

I expect to be closing in my first property in the next two weeks. I have (or hope I have) everything lined up: money, paperwork, taxes, etc. I am still trying to grab some last minute non-monetary concessions (that I believe are fair) but either way I intend to honour the agreement of sale.

Honestly, I am not sure how much help I can be but feel free to ask.

@Mary Lev did you find anyone to talk to about Portugal? 

I am heading out in March, and looking to relocate in June. I BRRRR in Colorado, and will be looking for similar investments in PT.

@Cynthia Wong With the amount of competition in Lisbon, is it still worth to make deals there?

I’d say is worth investing in rentals but not necessarily short term rentals.

It’s become very difficult to find deals in Lisbon.

I’m mid to long term investing so if you can still find properties that can pay for themselves I’d say is still worth it.
