Finding a Milwaukee Duplex

Hi All,

I'm a newb trying to get out there and buy a duplex that I intend to owner occupy in the Milwaukee area.  My ideal location would be close to the airport, but anywhere in Milwaukee County south of I-94 would be acceptable (West Allis, Greenfield, St. Francis, Bay View etc).   I am looking to buy a property for approx. $ 150K.   What do you think of my plan?  Can I find a good investment in this area?  Is there any smaller geographical area that I should focus on?  Thanks for reading this and any advice would be appreciated!

Look into homepath or homesteps for possible owner occupied properties.

203k loan, if need

Otherwise :

1.) Bay View

2.) St Francis / Cudahy

3.)  West Alllis

4.) Greenfield / Greendale

Regardless welcome aboard

Hi. Congrats on starting your investing career. Are you looking to fix up the property at all?

welcome @Nick Jay ! That is a great way to start. I did the same thing and am very glad I did. Just wish I would have gotten another duplex with FHA before I bought my SFH.
