New to bigger pockets and REI

Hello Bigger Pockets, I'm a newbie and I live in Nashville Tennessee and I'm interested in investing in the Nashville surrounding areas and in Indianapolis Indiana where my parents live. I'm interested in doing some wholesale deals to build up funds and then learning other strategies as i go along. I'm glad I found this community and I look forward to learning with everyone and hopefully networking with people in the area both Nashville and Indianapolis.

@Shannon Carlisle Welcome to BP I'm glad to see you on here! I would love to give you a few tips and pieces of advice and I hope you take them and let them serve you on your journey. You definitely want to get plugged in on your local real estate clubs/meet ups so go to (meetups.com) and look up real estate groups. Start attending those meet ups and networking with people and getting your name out there. Build relationships and ask lots of questions.

Secondly you definitely want to join all the local real estate groups on Facebook for your area. See who is posting, post some material yourself and reach out to those that are actively doing deals on there. You definitely want to find a mentor or someone willing to work with you or guide you.

Thirdly you certainly want to be reading books, watching YouTube content, and posting here on Bigger pockets. All of these things will help you learn and grow so you can learn the ins and outs of the business and know what you are talking about.

I hope you take action and can't wait to see where you will be in the future! Good luck!
