Hi @Zachary Waterman, I definitely agree with @Kelly Iannone and @Steven Torres! House hacking is the way to go! I'm also in a similar situation and I'm looking for a MFH in the area for a house hack! Let's connect!

Hi @Jessica Di Biase, they are one of the very big Property Management Companies in town. I have nothing bad to say about them since I haven't worked directly with them and they must be doing something right if they are one of the biggest ones in the area. However, we have seen many people leaving this and other companies and signing up with us throughout the years. The prices they have are towards the lower end and in PM you tend to get what you pay for. Lower prices usually mean less attention to details, slower communication and most importantly additional fees. My advice for anyone looking to hire a PM company is: Review the contract very carefully! Many companies charge lower initial fees which makes it easier to attract new owners but then charge inspection fees, after hours fees, fees for additional services etc. At the end it may cost you more than selection a premium company to start with.

We firmly believe in honesty, transparency and constant communication. I encourage you to take a look at out pages, reviews and feedback from other owners posted online. We take pride in what we do, we love what we do and we our goal is to build a long term relationship with all of our owners and help them improve their investments.

Do you have a recommendation for a good realtor in the Detroit market? Someone you have worked with and had a good experience?

Hi Everyone, I'm also starting to invest in Detroit. I have some experience there and I know the area very well. The previous company I was working for was doing a lot of business there. @James Wise do you suggest working with experienced realtors rather than wholesalers? If so, do you have any recommendations? What is the best way to purchase properties in the area? I would also like to connect with few investors in the area and run my numbers through them and get some feedback.

Hi BP!

My name is Alberto and I work as a Business Development Manager in a great Property Management company in Winter Park. I would like to connect with local experts and professionals. The goal will be to exchange knowledge and build a network! I'm specifically interested in connecting with successful young agents and investors. I haven't had a chance to meet many successful people around my age in the area yet.

Little bit about myself. I'm originally from Bulgaria, I grew up in Cyprus, then moved to the United Kingdom and finished my business degree. Shortly afterwards, I moved to Miami to start my career in real estate. I was working as a Business development manager for a short term rental company in Miami. This was a great experience and I met many amazing people. I realized early that I should concentrate on working with investors. I was able to find great deal, purchase under market value, improve and manage successfully. Few months ago, a great opportunity from my current company came along and I decided to start this new adventure in Orlando. I'm currently looking for a small MFH to house-hack and also actively looking for multifamily deals for my investors.

I look forward connecting and hearing your story!

Hi @James Munoz

There are two types of people in this world when it comes to picking a career. People seeking security and people looking for careers with no cap and unlimited opportunities. You need to decide if you are the first type of person or the second one. Worst place to be is stuck in the middle. This will cause problems and put breaks on you.

With this being said, you need to remember that it will not be easy. Like @Steven Foster Wilson said, you need to love what you are doing. I believe this is true no matter what occupation you decide to pic. You truly need to enjoy helping people, being creative and getting through challenging moments. You also need to know that if you start your real estate career most likely you will be doing this forever. Even if you decide to switch your focus in the future when you become successful you will still be involved in RE as an investor.

I believe every person should try a sales job early in his twenties. As you mentioned, you will quickly realize if this career is for you or not. When you do try, make sure to get a team that cares for your success and trains you well. Stick to the small teams where you can have weekly meetings and see how other top agents are doing. Get a mentor, a successful young agent who knows what he is doing and help him for free. You will gain unlimited knowledge and this will be one of your best investments you have ever made. Finally, be patient. My first deal did not come until my 6th month being full time in RE. When it did, it was bigger than I ever expected and I haven't stopped ever since.

Good luck!
