Post: Reasonable Appliance Installation Cost

Hi fellow BPers, I recently purchased new appliances (dishwasher and a gas dryer) for my first house hack in Houston TX area (Katy) and been looking to hire someone to install both of them. All the quotes that I've got were in the range of $200 - 400 (typically ~$150 for each) which seems to me to be too excessive especially for a dishwasher that by itself costs ~$450 ........

Are those numbers reasonable or am I getting all the "retail" price quotes?

What is your recommendation? Do I find a handyman to do the job for cheaper (what price should I expect for this kind of work?) or is this truly a skilled typed of job and I need to pay the big $ for it?

I ended up going with Danny's Appliances. Was a very good experience. My dishwasher wasn't broken after all but he checked it for any issues and cleaned the drains and such. Was a reasonable price too.

Post: Best Vacuum Cleaner Research

Hi, I'm considering buying a rainbow vacuum (pretty expensive) for cleaning my rentals. Is it a good or bad idea? Other vacuum suggestions? Is it worth investing in this equipment if I'm renting out my houses room by room and need a cleaner come over on regular basis to clean them?
