@Kevin Edwards save yourself the trouble!! I’m dealing with them now, purchased a “turnkey” property, which turned out to be anything, but turnkey. NEVER AGAIN!!

@Jermell Shavers makes perfect sense, that’s what I needed to hear to a more “local” experience.

@Marian Smith looking at a duplex as a move up from apartments is smart, and didn’t even occur to me.

@John Dean interesting, I’ll have to supply one of those was well. Thank you

I apologize for not sending out individual replies, but this has actually gotten more attention than I initially expected. I appreciate you all for providing me with your advice and your personal techniques. I reached out to my PM to give the go ahead for appliances and blinds/rods, but I learned a lot more after that initial email, so I will be sending out another email tomorrow to discuss the best appliances I should be supplying for my prospective tenants, as some of you have said.

Thank you 🙏🏼

@Martin Neal thanks for replying, it makes sense. It’s my first property and I’d rather play it safe and get the appliances in hopes of having a better shot of a decent tenant.

@Melinda Miller

Thanks for the tips Melinda, you’re absolutely right, it’d be worth the cost for me to invest in those to avoid any bigger issues in the future.

I’ll have to look that St Louis group up.

Thank you.

@Anthony Wick

That’s genius, I’m actually going to look to add that to my leases. “No window coverings, such as sheets, bags, etc.” thanks for your response.

@Filipe Pereira right, that’s what I was thinking I’ll have to confirm what the local expectations are in that area. Thanks for taking the time to relply.

@Peter T. In my experience as a renter, at least in northern NJ those things just aren’t supplied. The only thing in the house has ever been an oven. Every house I’ve rented I brought my own fridge, blinds, and other utilities. I assumed that was standard.

@Karen F. Makes sense, I don’t mind paying for it, it’s just the thought of walking into a rental with those appliances is news to me. I’ve never had that experience as a renter. But I will keep your tip in mind, thank you.
